Mithila Haat is a Madhubani art promotional film developed as part of a Bihar Government cultural initiative. The film presents the traditional art form through a contemporary visual narrative. Originating from the Mithila region of eastern India, Madhubani is recognized for its intricate line work, symbolic imagery, and narrative compositions inspired by nature, mythology, and daily life.
Creative Approach
From storyboarding through final animation, the project reinterpreted Madhubani’s visual language into original digital artworks derived from hand-drawn sketches. Each composition was translated into 2D animation, allowing characters and motifs to interact while retaining the distinctive structure and rhythmic qualities of the art form.
