Project Overview
Fractal Picture joined forces with Katara Studios to bring to life La’eeb, the official mascot of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Designed entirely in CGI, La’eeb™ debuted during the FIFA World Cup Draw Launch Film, introducing FIFA’s first ever Mascot-Verse. From storyboarding to final composite, Fractal Picture built a unified Mascot-Verse ecosystem across animation, large format media, and commercial content for the world’s largest sporting event.

Designed entirely in CGI, La’eeb™ debuted during the FIFA World Cup Draw Launch Film, introducing FIFA’s first ever Mascot-Verse. From storyboarding to final composite, Fractal Picture built a unified Mascot-Verse ecosystem across animation, large format media, and commercial content for the world’s largest sporting event.
Production Scope
Fractal Picture produced five Mascot-Verse episodes totaling 75+ minutes of premium animation, distributed across YouTube and digital broadcast platforms. The program extended into stadium media, water projection films at Doha Corniche, a large format Naked Eye 3D installation at Lusail Boulevard, Holotube installations, augmented reality activations, fan zone media, music driven promotional content, and a dedicated Qatar Airways in flight safety film. Collectively, the Mascot-Verse reached 5 Billion viewers worldwide, establishing La’eeb™ as one of FIFA’s most iconic mascots.
La’eeb™ featured in official FIFA World Cup soundtrack music videos, performing alongside global artists including Jung Kook, Nora Fatehi, and others.
The La’eeb™ Hype Bay was an interactive in stadium installation where La’eeb™ engaged fans entering the venue, turning arrival moments into immersive live experiences.
Qatar Airways In-Flight Safety Film
A dedicated safety film developed for Qatar Airways, featuring La’eeb™ and Mascot-Verse characters. High end motion capture translated live dancer performances into precise animated choreography for global airline audiences.
Legacy and Presence
La’eeb™ extended from stadium installations and large format public projections to airline cabins and mobile screens, becoming a unifying visual presence throughout the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Bringing together character creation, episodic animation, large format media, and location based entertainment at global scale, the project remains a defining milestone for Fractal Picture.
